About the PLM Cup

The Paul Lammermeier Memorial Cup is a football series between St. Xavier in Cincinnati and Saint Ignatius in Cleveland, both schools where Paul taught and had a profound impact on students’ understanding of giving back.  The series began in 2023, and is spearheaded by a committee of Paul’s former students and colleagues with goals to preserve Paul’s legacy, transform lives through acts of service, and create a collaborative endeavor for the common good. The annual contest recognizes and pays tribute to the legacy left by Paul Lammermeier at both schools.  Each year, the winning team gets to add their school’s name to the trophy and house it for the next year.

This year, St. Xavier hosted St. Ignatius in Cincinnati.  In an exciting game on October 16, 2026,  St. Xavier overcame a 21-14 halftime deficit to defeat St. Ignatius with a final score of 28-21.  Congratulations to all the players on a superb game, and we look forward to the rematch in 2027.
