Alan Francisco
(21 years old) - came to the Casa Ignacio in January, 2006.  An orphan since birth (his mother died giving birth), he was shuffled around his family for many years, without much supervision nor familiar care.  He never ceased to go to school, although never really finishing any of his high school years.  Practically living on the streets, he was taken in by a young teacher and his roommate for two years.  This teacher (also at Colegio San Francisco Javier) told us about Alan.  We interviewed him and he seemed to be a good candidate.  He became the first resident of the Casa Ignacio.  He graduated from high school last December.  He works part time and is studying at night “Peruvian Cuisine” in a culinary institute.  He likes to read, cook, and play computer games (as do most of the boys).  He would like to study to be a professional cook after finishing high school.
